Variety: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon
Taste Characteristics: Full bodied, stout, kind of aggressive when it is still young, with an excellent structure of tannins and a fascinating aftertaste.Rich in summer fruits aroma leaving a soft sweet aftertaste.
Vineyard: Grapes come from selected vineyards in the region of Ziria, in the department of Achaia, in Peloponnese and are cultivated at various altitudes, from 500 to 900m. The soil is a mixture of clay and lime and the production about 700Kg per strema.
Food Suggestions: Meat with aromatic sauces, pasta, cooked vegetables and cheeses Best served at a temperature of 8-12oC
Antonopoulos Vineyards was founded by the late visionary winemaker, Constantinos Antonopoulos near the city of Patras in the northwestern Peloponnese. Constantinos saw the vast, untapped potential of this diverse landscape, especially the mountainous region of Achaia and the unique winemaking opportunities it presented.
In 1994, Yiannis & Nikos Halikias, with the support of the Antonopoulos family, purchased Antonopoulos Vineyards and continued the important work of Constantinos Antonopoulos. For the Halikias cousins, Antonopoulos Vineyards represents the greatest of challenges, a new way of life and for them there is no turning back. Creativity, knowledge, loyalty and vision are the important qualities that are embodied in these owners and their team of hard working specialists as they continue to fulfill the dreams of Constantinos Antonopoulos.
Their love and passion for wine is what distinguishes and establishes Yiannis and Nikos as leaders in the emerging world of Greek wine. Their simple goal is to make the best wine possible and it requires ceaseless effort.
